Terms of Use

Welcome to RouteMigo. These Terms of Use explain the terms that apply when you use the RouteMigo mobile application and related website and services.

1. About RouteMigo

RouteMigo helps you discover, build and explore routes, parks and dog-friendly routes using location and map data.

By using RouteMigo, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use RouteMigo.

2. Route Information

RouteMigo provides route suggestions and location information for general informational and recreational purposes.

Route information may be inaccurate, incomplete or outdated. Roads, footpaths, trails, parks, access conditions and other features can change without notice.

A route shown by RouteMigo is a suggestion, not a guarantee that the route is safe, accessible, legal, open or suitable for your activity.

3. Safety and Personal Responsibility

You are responsible for deciding whether a route is suitable and safe before and during your activity.

Always:

  • follow local laws, road rules, signs and access restrictions;
  • check current conditions before starting;
  • use appropriate caution around roads, crossings, traffic and other hazards;
  • consider weather, terrain, lighting and your own ability;
  • respect private property and restricted areas; and
  • use appropriate equipment for your activity.

Do not rely on RouteMigo as your sole source of navigation, emergency information or safety information.

4. Maps and Location Information

RouteMigo uses mapping, location and geographic data from third-party sources, including OpenStreetMap and Google Maps Platform services.

The availability and accuracy of this information can vary. Map data may not reflect recent changes, temporary closures, construction, hazards, private property or access restrictions.

5. Location Permissions

Some RouteMigo features require access to your device location. You can control location permissions through your device settings.

If you choose not to provide location access, some features may not work or may require you to enter a starting location manually.

6. Parks, Dog Routes and Access Information

Information about parks, dog routes, dog-friendly areas, facilities and access is provided for convenience only.

You are responsible for checking current local rules, opening hours, restrictions, signage and conditions, including rules relating to dogs.

7. Reporting Problems

If you identify incorrect, unsafe, outdated or inappropriate route information, you may report the problem through RouteMigo.

Submitting a report does not guarantee that RouteMigo will change or remove the information.

8. User-Generated Content

If RouteMigo allows you to submit descriptions, reports, feedback or other content, you are responsible for the content you submit.

You must not submit unlawful, misleading, abusive, defamatory or privacy-infringing content.

You grant RouteMigo permission to use submitted feedback and reports for operating, maintaining, improving and troubleshooting the service.

9. Intellectual Property

RouteMigo and its software, branding, design and original content are owned by or licensed to RouteMigo and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may use RouteMigo for personal, lawful purposes. You must not copy, modify, reverse engineer, redistribute or commercially exploit the service except where permitted by law.

10. OpenStreetMap

RouteMigo uses OpenStreetMap data in its route-generation and geographic-data systems.

OpenStreetMap data is provided by the OpenStreetMap contributors and is available under the Open Data Commons Open Database License (ODbL).

See our Maps & Data page for attribution and additional information.

11. Google Maps Platform

RouteMigo uses Google Maps Platform services to display maps and provide certain location-related services.

By using RouteMigo, you acknowledge that your use of Google Maps functionality is subject to the applicable Google Maps Platform Terms of Service.

Google Maps Platform services are provided by Google and are subject to Google's terms, policies and privacy practices. See Google's Privacy Policy.

12. Availability and Changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue features of RouteMigo at any time.

We may also update route-generation logic, geographic data sources, map providers and other parts of the service.

13. Third-Party Services

RouteMigo relies on third-party services and infrastructure, which may include Google Maps Platform, Firebase, hosting providers and database providers.

Third-party services may have their own terms, policies, availability and limitations.

14. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RouteMigo is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

We do not guarantee that route information will always be accurate, complete, current, available, safe or suitable for a particular purpose.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified under applicable law, including the Australian Consumer Law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RouteMigo is not responsible for loss, injury, damage or inconvenience arising from your reliance on route information or from conditions encountered while using a route.

15. Saved Routes and Completed Route History

RouteMigo allows you to save routes and record routes as completed.

Saved routes and completed route history are stored in association with your app installation identifier. You can delete these records through the app.

If the service is discontinued or your data is no longer available, RouteMigo is not liable for any loss of saved routes or completed route history.

16. Accessible and Recovery Routes

RouteMigo provides route suggestions described as accessible or suitable for recovery activities.

These suggestions are based on geographic and path-network data and are provided for general informational and recreational purposes only.

Accessible route suggestions are not an accessibility assessment and do not guarantee that a route meets any particular accessibility standard or is suitable for your specific needs or equipment.

Recovery route suggestions are not medical advice. Consult a qualified health professional before undertaking any physical activity, particularly if you have a health condition or injury.

17. Cycleway Routes

RouteMigo may suggest routes following dedicated cycleways or cycling infrastructure.

Cycleway suitability is determined from OpenStreetMap data and may not reflect current conditions, signage, legal access restrictions or physical suitability for your equipment or ability.

You are responsible for determining whether a cycling route is legal, safe and suitable for your use.

18. Privacy

Your use of RouteMigo is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use and disclose information.

19. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be published on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
